Workout & Course
Fully stand-alone trainer software
for up to
as many CompuTrainers™, KICKRs™, PowerBeams™, ANT+ FE-C Bike Trainers, and stationary trainers you need
. If you have a powerful machine with a lot of screen space (or multiple projectors) then a large number of trainers may be used at once. On the practical side, if you have a common 8-trainer setup, PerfPRO Studio is perfect for bringing in additional trainers and allowing a larger group setting.
Extremely powerful for individual athletes.
for pricing for up to 3-rider support.
Completely integrates with
(also known as PerfPRO). Performance data files are automatically loaded into PerfPRO Analyzer after each ride. The two applications share the same data so athletes set up in either application are the same data. PerfPRO Analyzer can also immediately upload and email reports after each ride. This includes the PerfPRO website as well as TrainingPeaks.com.
On-the-fly recalibration at any time
. CompuTrainers press F3 on the
to go into calibration mode. Spin up, coast down, press F3 again to set the new calibration number and continue. No more unplugging of cables.
Built in recalibration for all workouts
. Every workout pauses everyone's trainers at 9-minutes (or whatever specified in Options) so everyone can recalibrate together and ensure trainers are warmed up and setup properly. This is an optional feature that has been embraced by the testing training studios. They dig it.
. If you would rather use your wireless Garmin ANT+ heart rate strap than the Polar heart strap or wired ear clip you can do that. It also recognizes cadence, cadence/speed, speed, and power meter sensors. Power meter detection becomes cool if you want to add a
to the grid. You can also use
simulated power (SimPower)
if your stationary trainer matches one of the compatible SimPower trainers listed within PerfPRO Studio. Additionally, with a 2nd ANT+ stick you may also have your CompuTrainer transmit as a power meter so your ANT+ bike computer (e.g, Garmin 500, iPhone, etc.) can pick up your workout. This allows you to save your workout to your device as well and make it easier to push data up to Garmin Connect.
Handlebar controller menu
for each rider. Rider can press the orange RESET button to choose options such as selecting an available ANT+ device as well as finishing their ride early so someone else can hop on.
Power Meter Control:
You may pair up your power meter with a controllable trainer and have the power meter adjust the resistance to follow its power output. This is useful when you know for certain your power meter is more accurate than your trainer.
Multiple statistical displays
. Riders can press the F2/Display button on their handlebar controller to toggle through the various displays.
- This is among the many unique features of PerfPRO Studio. PerfPRO Studio recognizes when riders begin to over-spin or ride too fast during a power (ERG/MRC) workout, which can make it difficult to maintain the current required load. PerfPRO Studio knows to adjust the trainer to slow them down without interrupting their workout and allow them to maintain their current watts. When you try it you'll love it. Gone are the days of running out of gears during that important power test!
Associate any video with any workout.
PerfPRO Studio comes standard with
video workout files (not the videos themselves) in MRC format. If you own their videos, and if you don't you should try them, you can associate the videos with the workouts and ride some cool video workouts. Also, if you want to build up and sync a workout from your own helmet cam video you can do that too. Just build the video, create a workout that matches it and you're good to go. If you're willing to put in the time of producing the videos with PerfPRO Studio you can have your own free video workouts. It's pretty sweet!
Can update your FTP on the fly
to adjust difficulty. At any time during the ride, athletes can use the +/- keys to change their FTP to adjust the difficulty of their individual ride. The workouts files when loaded do this for you, but if you're feeling strong or not quite up to the task you can change your percentage to change the resistance. The leader can also use the handlebar controller menu to adjust the difficulty of the entire workout so everyone's difficulty level changes.
Riders can be added during a workout
. If people show up late, the workout can be paused, riders added, and workout resumed without interruptions to the rider's performance files. Rider's finish times are total ride time they rode rather than what the workout's final time is. This ensures accurate analysis of each rider's performance data.
Detects trainer idle time
. If the trainer stops producing power after the specified time the ride is finished and the performance file is saved. When loaded into PerfPRO Analyzer that remaining dead time is trimmed off to maintain accurate performance data.
Intelligent built-in workout and course database
. This makes for easy adding and editing of workouts and courses of many types. See the Workout & Course Database page for more information. You'll find it very handy.
Train using a Time / FTP% based workout
, Time / Watts, Time /Grade or "Past Performance as Workout". See the
section for more information.
Compatible with most performance and course file types
. There should never be a need to convert a file to a particular course type (e.g, Garmin to 3DC is not necessary). PerfPRO Studio simply loads them all and becomes especially powerful when these files are imported into the workout database.
Add stationary trainers with CompuTrainers™
. If you have more athletes than CompuTrainers™ you can add stationary trainers to the screen. If they're riding with ANT+ devices such as a power meter they can be used so their power shows up on the screen. See the
page for more information.
Built-in FTP Testing
. No need to find a course and/or a workout, this test is built right into PerfPRO Studio. While testing, athletes can view their FTP interactively and get feedback when they are going below their old FTP or simply crushing it. The default FTP duration and slope of the test is setup within Options, and the slope can be adjusted individually during the test using the handlebar controller. When their ride is finished their FTP is automatically updated for them as well as their power zones. Optionally, they may also automatically update their LTHR and Heart Rate Zones. This is very handy for individual riders and a HUGE time-saver for classroom training sessions. The administrator no longer has to update each rider's FTP individually. It's 2017, let PerfPRO Studio handle this for you!
. During the workout you get interactive countdowns showing the next steps, what load you should be riding at as well as motivational comments and audio alerts. Goals for the workout are displayed as well. The main timer also shows all steps for the workout and gives you the option to skip certain steps if they don't pertain to today's effort.
Manual Lap counter
. Use your mouse to press the Lap button on the main timer to show lap times. OR simply press the F1 on the handlebar controller to do the same thing. You can then get general splits (speed/watts/distance/times) of each lap, which can then be further analyzed to the nth degree in PerfPRO Analyzer.
. Workouts can be setup to automatically hit the lap counter every number of mins/secs/miles/kilometers. Auto laps can also be setup within a workout (using the built-in workout editor) so laps are shown for each step or a specific group of steps within each workout. To take it even further, when riding courses, you can specify multiple laps and get separate splits for course laps. You wanted LAP complexity, you got it!
Very easy port assignment setup
. If you're using the older MultiRider 2009 software then PerfPRO Studio will bring those port settings over for you so there's virtually no setup time. If the ports have never been setup then it's real easy to put the trainers into TEST mode and have them show what ports belong to them. You can then adjust the ports according to the trainer number.
PerfPRO Studio uses very little of your PC's CPU
so you can run other applications at the same time (e.g., Music, Movie player, etc). For a single CPU processor running Windows XP, 12 trainers takes up approximately 15-20% of your CPU usage. If you use any of the older CT software, your CPU runs at 100%. If you own anything newer with at least a dual-core processor then the total CPU usage drops to around 5% for the same setup. If you're using Windows 7 with a quad core setup then connecting even as many as 40 trainers does not use much of your machine's power though it does take a little longer to startup that many trainers. The biggest issue you will run into is screen space with a setup that large. Time to get a big video card and multiple projectors.
Quite a bit more actually
, but as you can see, adequately feature rich. Try it out and you will see, if you're serious about training you're going to love this software!!!!!!
